winter

It finally happened.

This morning we woke up to snow on the lawn.

I was banking on it being a fluke and melting away by this afternoon.

No such luck.

extra extra!

Look who made the front page!

My old roommate is in charge of putting together BYU's Bridal Guide magazine and she needed a picture for the cover so of course I told her she was welcome to choose from any of our wedding pictures and...
 whala!

Presto cover girl!

I also might have picked up 5 copies yesterday to send to friends and family...and felt really weird about it while cramming them into my purse and running out of the building before anyone could see me.

In other news I got the sweetest package from my mom today.

In 2005 (a whopping 6 years ago) I wrote a few letters to my future husband:

Apparently when I was 14 I had dreams of becoming an interior decorator (I forgot about that ambition) and I dotted my exclamation points with little hearts.

I talked about how I wanted him to propose ("in a cute way" - I wasn't quite particular), where we would live (I had my heart set on California back then) and what I thought he would look like (tall, dark & handsome).

Too funny.

But also too fun to read with my man all these years later.

I am officially a fan of time capsules.

halloween

more belated Halloween festivities:

on Halloween night David and I were invited to a Murder Mystery Dinner Party.

I LOVE these and haven't been to one in years.
(we might need to add this to our list of Halloween traditions...)

Our dinner was set on a cruise to the Bahamas where a boat stowaway was drowned - and we were all suspects.

DUN DUN DUN!

If you couldn't tell, David is supposed to be a ghostly impersonation of Elvis and I'm a movie star.
And don't worry, we didn't murder anyone (that night).

It was a great shindig full of pasta, brownies and murder mysteries!

Till next October!

after the boat ride...

last Halloween we discovered one of Provo's holiday gems:

2010
notice me & Dave all cozy there in the middle?
we had just been dating for about a month at this point

It was definitely a tradition worth keeping

Who wouldn't want to hear ghost stories about The Cremation of Sam Mcgee and Sleepy Hollow in a boat with lit jack-o-lanterns all around?

Did I mention the pirate attack in the middle of the boat ride?

Best. Tradition. Ever.

P.S. Here are our belated Halloween costumes:
Colonel Mustard & Mrs. White

We had the whole gang (Prof. Plum, Miss Scarlet etc.), but group pictures were on someone else's camera...if I get a hold of them in the remotely near future I'll throw them up here as well!
Cheers!

UPDATE: Group pictures have been found

Happy {belated} Halloween!
