today
Yes it was.
It included sunbathing by the pool, reading as long as I liked, a surprise lunch with daddio, walking in the sunshine, eating peaches & nectarines, and spending it all with my #1 man.
Yep. Today was a good day.

Etsy and I have a love/ hate relationship.
It's such a BIG site offering SO many options that I often get overwhelmed at the thought of sifting through 157+ pages of information.
However, when someone LINKS to something they've already found for me, I'm rarely disappointed.
Like this shop and these two darling London prints?
I'm in love.
Can you give yourself presents for St. Patrick's Day? I'm so tempted...

priorities
I've been craving a map to put up in our house for a while now. I thought about buying one off etsy, but, lets be honest, with Christmas around the corner I'm a little tired of watching funds fly out the window. SO...I googled.
And guess what?
Turns out you can download all the state's shapes straight to your photoshop from Adobe.com for FREE!
All it took was a little (lot of) time and waahla! My very own little US map made by yours truly.
Note: Yes I'm aware the states don't exactly all fit together just right, but I think it sort of adds to the charm of the thing. Don't you agree?
Now that this is done I probably should start studying for my marketing final..

as easy as ABC
I'm just beginning to figure out this Photoshop business.
Ask David and he'll be sure to tell you that I spend a good deal of time messing around on there (when I should probably be doing homework...)
Anyway I saw this darling picture on Pinterest (where else?) yesterday and I decided to recreate it.
And I did.
And I love it:
Haven't fully decided if I'm lovin' this font/colors yet,
but I've got a spot on our wall waiting for it when I figure it out.

colors
The leaves are starting to change colors around here,
but most of them are in that lovely yellow, in between phase right now.
I'm lovin' it.
Bring it on fall.

radio.
I've always kinda had a soft spot for good, old fashioned radio programs.
I think it must have come from listening to the Drama Hour on long road-trips late into the night when I was growing up.
Stories full of mysteries, detectives and cowboys all playing front and center right there in the back seat of the suburban.
Pretty great.
That's why Mortal Fools production of
was such a treat.
It was what I'm going to call "radio theatre,"
and it was an adaptation of Orson Welles 1938 radio broadcast of Bram Stroker's original novel.
Lets start with the local:
Creepy castle up on the hill.
Behind an actual mental institution.
Late at night.
Check.
Inside the venue:
Dark,
drafty
and intimate.
Check.
They were pretty fabulous,
but the troop's foley-artists were by far my favorite:
How do I get that job??
(yes, she's clapping coconut shells together to sound like horse's hooves and he's blowing across the top of a glass jug to sound like the wind)
P.S. They're doing a production of The Glass Menagerie in the spring.
I pretty sure I remember hating that book in middle school, but if it's this good...I might just have to go see it anyways.

Love (3)
Love bade me welcome, yet my soul drew back,
Guilty of dust and sin.
But quick-ey'd Love, observing me grow slack
From my first entrance in,
Drew nearer to me, sweetly questioning
If I lack'd anything.
"A guest," I answer'd, "worthy to be here";
Love said, "You shall be he."
"I, the unkind, the ungrateful? ah my dear,
I cannot look on thee."
Love took my hand and smiling did reply,
"Who made the eyes but I?"
"Truth, Lord, but I have marr'd them; let my shame
Go where it doth deserve."
"And know you not," says Love, "who bore the blame?"
"My dear, then I will serve."
"You must sit down," says Love, "and taste my meat."
So I did sit and eat.

a thursday afternoon
spent wondering the Getty Villa in Malibu and meandering the Santa Monica pier?
great success.
no sea-side view from these lovely Roman gardens?
quickly remedied by a stroll down the pier.
