Today, while checking a patient out, she looked at me oddly and asked how old I was.
I told her 22.
She looked surprised.
I asked her how old she thought I looked.
She said maybe 16 or 17. And she noticed I was married.
She was completely abashed.
She asked if I had any children.
I told her no.
She said good. That would have been too much to handle.
Alright, I promise I'm a college graduate with a bachelor's degree. I'm married. I've lived abroad, and I'm old enough to sit at the bar.
I blame the scrubs...

Just think how great that'll be 20, 30 years down the road, though, to look younger than you are. And... people are TERRIBLE at guessing ages! I always got figured to be older than I was, but somehow that flipped around 27 - people in my Lehi ward presumed I was 23, I get asked if I'm a college student all the time, and, if we're being honest, I look pretty much the same as I did at 17 (only with deeper forehead wrinkles). I'll take it.
