note to self: starting a london walk at 8:45 PM is probably not a good idea, lighting may become an issue sooner than you would think
however if you don't take lighting into account then the south bank of the thames is the place to be at night to grab a drink and stroll the boardwalk.
but before it gets dark there are a few things to see:
(1)
be sure to say hi to Claudius, he get rather lonely in his little nook off to the side
(2)
bridges. lots and lots of bridges.
(3)
of course you'll see a cathedral...we're in london for goodness sake poeple, but Southwark Cathedral is supposed to be the city's best example of gothic architecture (after Westminster, don't freak out)
(4)
all 10 stories of city hall
(5)
theatres OLD and NEW
aka: Shakespeare's Globe and the National Theatre
(6)
and maybe if you're lucky you'll see a parade of elephants, but don't get your hopes up too high, there's only hundred of them all over the city
