double uno

Today was our 11 month anniversary.

In one month we will have been married for A WHOLE YEAR.

Is this real life?  Since when did married life begin to feel more normal and natural than being single?  I still haven't stopped telling people we're newlyweds.  Maybe I ought to reconsider that. . .

We celebrated by accepting an invitation to dinner with a family in our ward and the missionaries.  Always a treat.  And I'm a pretty big fan of any occasion where someone else volunteers to feed us a meal.  Done and done.

As a treat, I also made David's favorite oatmeal raisin cookies for the occasion (the key is soaking the raisins - so good).  Fun fact: both David and I will often go for oatmeal raisin cookies over chocolate chip.  Yes, we're both aware that we're crazy.

Thanks for a great 11 months David!  I love ya!

10 months

Guys!  We've made it to 10 MONTHS!  Can you believe it?  Okay, you just shrugged, but David and I looked at each other Sunday night and were so excited.  We made it into the double digits!  Celebrations included Sunday naps, a drive around our community (while salivating over some lovely, lovely homes), and a yummy dinner.

Easy, chill, & perfect.

Yippee!

9 months!

As of this Thursday David and I have OFFICIALLY been married for nine whole months.  Pure and utter craziness, that' what this is.  I honestly have the feeling that one of these days I'm going to turn around and 20 years will have rushed by without me barely taking notice of them.

Thanks for all the good times darlin' - I'm fully expecting more to come.

mile mark #8

It was 8 months yesterday!  Except neither of us realized it until I saw it on the calendar - that's what finals week will do to you folks.
We decided on some impromptu celebrating with two shake Tuesday and then went back to the books.
I'm thinkin' we'll really have to make up for that with some extra birthday celebrations next week.

Cheers to another month and pictures in pajamas!

3.19.2012

7 months

We made it one more month around the horn!  It was a happy St. Patrick's Day/ 7 month anniversary at our house:

Gift cards to Chilis = dinner at Chilis
(2 for $20 deal + an appetizer?  They know us too well)

And then (green) mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert, a nod to the Irish & Kung Fu Panda 2 for entertainment.

Woohoo for 7 months!

2.27.2012

celebrate good times

So since our Valentine's Day/ 6 month anniversary plans kinda got put on the back burner a while back we decided to do some celebrating Friday night:

Dinner at THIS new Provo place + dessert at home, a movie & some Martinellis?

Yep, we're real hard to please.

Thank goodness for excuses to celebrate.

6 months & skiing

Such a great combination.

Can we do this every monthiversary please?

p.s. We both actually snowboard, but I always say we're "going skiing."  Does anyone else do that too?

5 months!

Can you believe it's almost been HALF A YEAR since we got married??!

I'm pretty sure you all just shrugged your shoulders at the screen...

Well, in case you haven't been keeping track (and unless you're my mom, I kind of hope you haven't) it's been 5 whole months since we said "I do" and it's been the funniest 5 months I can ever remember.

In true Carly + David fashion, we celebrated our monthiversary with pizza and pictures:

Thank you Nicolitalia for all your delicious goodness - you will be sorely missed come summertime.

Till next month!

12.18.2011

4 months

Welp, yesterday was month marker #4 and we celebrated by doing a lot of this:

and this:

but now we are in California & all is well and warm.

Merry traveling and Christmasing to you all!

11.19.2011

3 months!

 We've hit month #3!

A celebration was definitely in order.

The agenda:
Squash and salad for dinner
+
Episodes of Arrested Development
+
Mugs filled with homemade pazookies for dessert
 =
Great success.

Also, to supplement the celebration, we hung twinkle lights all around our living room.
(not to be confused with Christmas lights)

They make me ridiculously happy.
I expect they will stay up on our walls until we move :)

P.S. Our wedding videographer posted a little sneak peak of the morning prepping for the big day!  It's too much fun - I CANNOT wait to see the full thing!

10.18.2011

60 days

Well, we did it.
As of yesterday we have been married a whopping 2 months.
You have my permission to be impressed.

I'm trying to figure out this balancing act of school and the almost uncontrollable urge to decorate our apartment with every DIY I find on Pinterest while making home cooked dinners every night.

I've come to terms with the fact that it's pretty much impossible.

The home cooked dinners every night, in reality, happen about twice a week.

I have a whole list of DIY's I want to make and a few I've bought all the supplies for...now I just need a few spare hours.

And school is, more or less, trudging along.
Did I mention I have a group project in all 5 of my classes?  It's insanity trying to be this organized.

But, despite all the craziness, we still couldn't be happier.

Cheers to month 2!

9.18.2011

pizza night

So to celebrate our 1st month of marriage,

(can you even believe it's been that long??)

Dave and I decided to use our lovely new pizza stone and relive our first date.

Yes, we're cheese-balls like that.
Now you know.

Pizza makings acquired from Niccolitalia
(Dave's favorite)

+ Rootbeer

+ watching a couple of the first episodes of this series:

(it's on Netflix and we might be hooked...)

Our conclusion?

This might have to become a monthly tradition.
(or perhaps more often than that...)
